Running Xwin-NMR on the Dell PC's
-
You must have the spectrometer data folder mapped as a network drive to get data
from the instrument.
-
You can also reprocess data from a CD or a Zip, but you must first drop
and drag the data folder into the folder
C:\Bruker|Xwinnmr\data\nmr_lab\nmr in order to be able to see it in a
directory or search window. In the case of CD data, you must then
change the properties of the copied data folder:
-
right click on the folder, choose Properties, uncheck read-only, then
apply to the entire contents of the directory.
-
To start Xwinnmr, double click the xwinnmr 3.1 icon on the desktop.
-
Type search to open a search window. Click on F: in the Directory
window to see data from the spectrometer. If F: doesn't appear in the
window, click the Edit menu, choose Edit Directory List, type in F:,
choose Add, then OK.
-
Most commands should be the same as in the SGI version of xwinnmr.
-
Click the scrolling wheel on the mouse to get the action of the middle
mouse button (the Dell computers do not have true 3 button mice like
the SGI).
-
When you are finished, close the connection to the spectrometer by
double clicking on the "My Network Places" icon, choose
Tools, choose "Disconnect Network Drive...", highlight F:,
click OK.
